Bonjour Montreal! ::Monday Blues::

Hi guys! It's been awhile since we last see each other virtually. I haven't been writing a lot due to work. I can't write at work. I tried it before, but too many distractions so yeah, I'd rather stay away from work and besides, this blog is not related to work anyways.

I am here in Montreal for a vacay (like I know right?) but I do miss my hometown more than ever. Being too far of the map in a different timezone (12 hours difference), it's like a bit of a torture between me and my Panda bear and my little brothers.

But at times, being in this relationship makes you think about a lot of stuff and you're dreading for that things to happen. You're scared to lose the people who'll make you feel safe and sane in this chaotic world.

It's been a couple of days, and I still couldn't keep up with the pace I put myself and my Panda in. he has work which is like falling in to the same timezone (he's working from 8.30pm - 6, I think, back in our country). I have to take deep breaths for this to work. I have to just take a deep breath and not mind every negative thoughts inside my head.

We haven't seen each other for a year and a couple of months now and it get's harder to hold on. It's like that Garrison Stable quest in World of Warcraft, when you go way to far, the rope will blink red and snap, there it goes. The only thing is, in this life you gotta learn how to hold on no matter how hard it is, if there is still love left.

Communication is hard due to time difference and work, but if there's a will there's a way right? If there is no other way... Let's just leave it to batman(!). It will work, if the two people would still love to continue.

Just missing him so bad.

Playing with Makeup: CNY (or somewhat inspired)

HAPPY CNY!!!

Red has always been the focus every Chinese New Year since it represents good fortune. I created this look inspired by CNY, and MAC's Red Red Red Collection which I have used two of the products, pretty much one of the highlights of the collection.

This is the look that I have come up with although the red, is quite subtle. I like how it applies, it applies opaque but then you can always tone the red down to a much desirable red, by blending it in. The only thing I did not like about this eyeshadow is that, the consistency of it, is not really nice. I prefer my Illamasqua's Daemon eyeshadow over this too since it performs better and, well, it's red.

This the look that I come up with:

Doing my normal routine, except that I've used NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Punjab (Medium 1) on top of my OLAY Hydrating Gel. The reason why I put on this hydrating stuff is that I have a combination type of skin, I do get oily on my T-zone, which normally happens, but then, I'm quite dry on some parts like the sides of my nose, around my mouth and cheeks.

After all that, I have to spray a bit of M.A.C.'s Fix+ for extra hydration and just to sheer out a bit of the foundation. Mind you, even though this foundation is quite liquid-y, it's very very opaque (shake it first before pumping!). I did one pump, which was recommended by NARS makeup artists, and yes, all you need is a pump. With the help of Fix+, the foundation glide-on well.

I do not put on concealer after my foundation routine nor set it with powder. It's more of like let it set a bit more on my skin before I cover it up again.

The next is brows. I can't find my M.A.C. eyebrow pencil so I had to settle with MAYBELLINE brow pencil which is quite dark plus the BENEFIT Eyebrow gel.

Moving on to the eyes, I used up my all time favorite eyeshadow primer from Too Faced, Shadow Insurance. I put on Kinky eyeshadow from the Smoked Palette by Urban Decay as a base, to lock on any oils on my lid. I used M.A.C. Strike While Haute eye shadow from their Red Red Red collection.  Over the lid, I put on M.A.C.'s Expensive Pink and just to give it a little bit of dimension, I used a couple of eyeshadows from the Gravitas and Warm neutral eyeshadow palette for the crease, namely Antiqued (from Gravitas) and Dark Brew (from Warm Neutral palette). Blend everything together for that subtle neutral look.

I only used M.A.C. fluidline in Blacktrack as eyeliner for my top lash line, and Urban Decay's 24/7 Eye liner in Perversion for my water line. Finishing off the eye makeup, I used two coats of Illamasqua's Raven Mascara. I hated putting on falsies so I'm skipping any step related to false eye lashes.

Now I can move on to concealer, bronzer and blush. I used all the same products and process from the previous tutorial, except from the powder I used to set it all in place (although I don't recommend setting it with powder, it looks like you put on too much stuff afterwards, just be sure to use your fingers to press on all the products so it wouldn't look cakey).

For the lips, I used Body Shop's Lip care balm, let my lips soak in it then applied M.A.C. Redd Lip Liner. Top it up with M.A.C. Lustre Lipstick in Lady Bug and now we're done!

This look is pretty much for a day wear. You can add in a bit more of that dark eye shadows around the outer corners, or just put on a bit more of that red. Although you kinda have to watch out for it since putting too much red will make your eyes looked irritated.

Love,

Bridal-yet-not-so-bridal Look

Hi guys!

It has been a while since I posted and it's already the month of hearts. I've been in to something up, probably might post every Wednesday for some stuff as I play with my makeup and stuff. Hopefully.
So enough chit-chat and let's get started!

I have some stuff I've been loving for awhile now which I always used almost everyday as my go-to makeup look. I always do a semi-full face makeup. I don't always put on blush since I'm rosy cheeks and all when I got out of the house to work.

So this is the look that I've come up with which is somewhat close to a bridal makeup. I love how neutral it came out but trust me, I don't think it's that neutral since M.A.C.'s Expensive Pink Eyeshadow on the lid is a bit loud but then it is my favorite eyeshadow so... yeah xD

These are the products I used

FACE:
Olay Aquaction Long Lasting Hydrating Gel
Illamasqua Hydra Veil
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Medium 1.5 (Vallauris)
Revlon Photoready Concealer in Medium
Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer
M.A.C. Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder/Pressed
M.A.C. Mineralize Skin Finish in Dark Golden (as Bronzer)
M.A.C. Mineralize Blush in Love Thing

BROWS:
M.A.C. Veluxe Brow Liner in Deep Dark Brunette
Benefit Gimme Brow gel in Medium
M.A.C. Chromographic Pencil in NC15/NW20

EYES:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer
M.A.C. Brooke Shields's Gravitas Palette (Expensive Pink, Plummed, Antiqued, Carbon)
M.A.C. 15 Eyeshadow Palette Warm (Brule)
M.A.C. Fluidline in Blacktrack
Illamasqua Raven Mascara
Benefit They're Real Mascara

LIPS:
Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Lip Balm in Icy Mint
M.A.C. Chromographic Pencil in NC15/NW20 (as lip liner)
Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in Buff
M.A.C. Ultimate Lipstick in Marque
M.A.C. Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme D'Nude

The complete look!
It's kinda weird how you look polished in Note 4's front cam lol XD

Je Suis Charlie

8th January 2015

Je Suis Charlie

The whole world was shocked through the mass murder regarding a satirical article pertaining to a terrorist group. To be not allowed, to always have our words, our thoughts entrapped within us for we condemned those who brought terror, those who brought out and extinguished the peace we ever so needed for we cannot condemn the people since it's disrespectful, blasphemous to do so.

No, as I sat here on my bed preparing to leave as all the blood in my veins rushed through my head, my thoughts are with those who lost due to this "stupidity" and "cowardliness" of these so called terrorist.

To kill in the name of who? Why would somebody would like to teach every man, every young boy that it is right to kill, to punish those who mock their beliefs, their ever so barbaric beliefs that all they could do to honor once deity or god or leader is to have our hands bloodied. Will their God do the same for them? Will they find peace in this everlasting war in their mind that their God should rule the world?

Imagine if there is no religion. Imagine if everything that is in the scriptures is all just some random fictional book that we are made to believe in in order for us to find salvation. Will it end? No. Will it be stopped? No.

No matter which religion we grew up, if we are brought up with this mindset that even though it's unreal, we honor the non-existent person. I'm being an atheist here, but then what I speak of, when you look at some angles, what I say might probably true. But then going back to the topic, if what we see when we grew up are all ok-to-kill-in-the-name-of-some-random-god, then I don't see any logic in it. We are just going back to the time wherein we discover fire. The use of fire, the time of the hunt. The time where we think that our morals, the way we think is in level with our shit everyday.

I'm not saying that Islam is bad nor do I say that Christianity is good. We are living in a day where cellular phones have been converted to smartphones and we all have a chance to have a one-way ticket to Mars. We are more logical today than what we were yesterday. We should use our minds, open our hearts to new things for we could move in and be happy.

I do believe that the practices should be passed in to the next generation to preserve the teachings, but as humans, being at the top of the animal kingdom, we have morals that even these books couldn't teach us.

We should not let our religion box our mind and our souls. We are humans. We all wished for peace and unity under one God as this God wishes the same for us. We control our fate. What we do to others will likely be done to us. How we perceived others is the same with them.

We all die in the end but it's better to die without having to be the last bit of our memory be a bullet in our head. We can change our course, the way we see others if we try to be a bit more understanding and drop our guns down.

For the families and love ones of those who were killed in this tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers are with you...
