Beauty haul yet again (Part I)

Hi guys~! The day I've been looking forward to is coming too close and I'm quite nervous about it. This Friday will probably mark as the start of my Freelance Makeup Artist - Career, but it will definitely be one of my stepping stones although it's just a test run*.

Bought some stuff today and I'm pretty psyched to use them up.

My first ever Sigma Brushes:Mrs. Bunny Essential Brush Kit

some stuff I bought from M.A.C. and SEPHORA
Have been meaning to buy this Train Case for awhile. Happy to have it before December ^^

So these are the stuff I bought and let me get it through in detail.

For the Sigma Brushes, Mrs. Bunny Essential Brush Kit, I love the packaging when I received it. Not bad for a first time purchase in Luxola, the delivery guy even arrived earlier than expected and I was still on my pjs (talk about day-off). If you're wondering how much I bought it from Luxola, it's S$206.00 which is cheaper if I bought the travel sized brushes from M.A.C. (retailed at S$110.00 - S$115 per pack with 5 to 6 brushes so for two it would roughly cause me SGD 220.00 - SGD 230.00)

YEY! Blue Brusheys~!

I never used or tried any of these brushes yet since I'm saving it for the big day. But first "feel" of it, I love how it actually feels, very soft.

For the M.A.C. stuff I bought, got myself a couple of lipsticks, M.A.C. Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, M.A.C. Face & Body Foundation, Prolong Concealer, Pump for Studio Fix Liquid, and a Prolong Lip Liner.

M.A.C. Face and Body Foundation in C2, Lancome's Hypnose Doll Eyes Waterproof Mascara, M.A.C. Studio Fix Liquid Foundation in NC25, M.A.C. Prolong Wear Concealer in NW25, M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Fashion Revival (Deep Raspberry) and Damn Glamorous (Bright Pink Red) and Prolong Lip Liner in Bespoken For (Deep Plum)

I don't know if I had talked about Face and Body Foundation before but this is my second bottle (well actually a spare since I'll be running out soon). My skin feels very dry these days that I had to stick with M.A.C.'s Prolong Wear SPF 20 Foundation (cream) which sets quickly in to a matte finish but since I've had a very weird skin, dry at times then very oily at times, I'd have to switch foundation routines. If I'd want a more dewy look I'll go for the Face and Body.

For oily skin, since my "client's" skin is pretty much oily, I better go for the matte finish. She had tried Studio Fix Powder Foundation which did pretty well, and I'd wanted to try something different in some ways. I just tried it and well it does give off a matte finish although I started feeling a bit itchy, which is sort of not a good idea to test it out since I'm having a dryer skin these days and that I'm probably off with PLW and F&B but I do love this foundation.

Pro Long Wear Concealer in NW20 is nice. I was trying to find an under eye concealer and this was suggested to me and I love it. It doesn't crease as much as other concealers do and that it sets quite fast.

The lipsticks (Fashion Revival) feels creamier and non drying. You could feel the matte in it but in a very creamy way. The lip liner reminds me of Urban Decay Lip Liners I have since it's creamy and really easy to work with. It does dry out but not like the other Pro Long Wear lip liners I tried which is a bit patchy after using.

Lancome's Hypnose Doll Eyes Waterproof mascara, probably the most expensive mascara I ever bought (SGD 50.00) but it does the job although the rose-y scent it gives off bothers me a bit. It gives off this false eyelash effect (IMO) which I never ever would like to use as much as possible. I'm not a fan of falsies since it takes too much time and energy and effort to fix it up, make it look good. But this mascara does the job. The wand reminds me of a slimmer version of MakeUp ForEver's Smokey Extravagant Mascara too.

Overall I'm quite happy with my purchases and this is the look I've come up with.

Eyes: Used the Warm Neutral Palette from M.A.C.
M.A.C. Soft Ochre Paint Pot
Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Waterproof Mascara
Eyebrow: M.A.C. Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brunette
Face: M.A.C. Fix +
M.A.C. Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation in NC25
M.A.C. Studio Careblend Pressed in Medium
M.A.C. Bronzing Powder in Golden
Lips: M.A.C. Pro Long Lip Liner in Bespoken For
M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Fashion Revival

(Just in case you're wondering, I do play Diablo 3 and that mouse pad is not from my honeybear, it's mine :P so care to add me up? battle tag's lilith#6766 but I'm in to World of Warcraft these days xD)

So that's all folks~!

Thanks for your time :)

Love,

Beauty Haul! Etude House & NARS

I dislike using the word "beauty" cause it sounds so cheesey~ but whatevs... I bought some stuff today and I'm excited to show it to you guys~! It's something I've been waiting for and well, some "first" purchases which I never really even thought of buying.
Collagen Eye Patch from Etude House, NARS Audacious Lipstick in VERA,
NARS Velvet Lip Liner in Belle Mare and CC Cream in Silky with SPF 30/PA++
from Etude House

Let's start of with stuff I bought from Etude House. I never even imagine I'll be buying one from this brand since I'm not really in to korean-stuff all though I love Kimchi and some BBQs. Hate is a harsh word to put it, for back in my country there's a K-POP craze going on which I'm not really in to. They're kind of hard to understand (that's why I prefer to listen to JPOP) and kind of hard to sing aaaaanndd auto-tune annnndd they all look the same... well for me at least. Since I'm a metalhead, I prefer not to. Putting hatred aside, I'll still be trying these products I bought (of course!) and I'm quite surprised by how I tried it on and it works well o.o

Surprise! It comes with a pump!

It comes off as white which is different from what, perhaps, the western CC creams used to provide.
This what makes Asian CC Creams sort of superb from western stuff IMO blends in with your skin nicely.

Quite light and blends in perfectly with your skin. (When I tried to remove it, it gives off the
same shade as foundation does. O.o)

The I've tried YSL CC cream and I found out that this feels rather light on the skin. It does quite sets a bit fast and leaves your skin a bit sticky. I bought the cc cream with the matte finish, and I think I'll go buy another one for dewy/glow-y finish. It does do it's job quite well. The only thing I don't like about this is, I look pale on it. The good side is, you don't need to powder it up after you put on your foundation and stuff. Even though it is quite matte, it does leave off a bit of shine for a "healthier-skin" look.
no to redness~!

The Eye Patches feels really good. I bought three and got some freebies to go with. A toner, a moisturizer, a hair mask and a clear lip gloss.

NARS
I've been a fan of NARS for quite sometime now, and it's been the first time I heard somebody telling me that "red" shades don't look good on me since it won't pop the red color with my skin tone. I might go back and buy NARS Audacious lipstick in Charlotte to prove her wrong, but for now, I have to enjoy using Vera which reminds me of a cross between M.A.C.'s Private Party (LE) and All Fired Up.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Vera and
Velvet Matte Lip Liner in Bella Mare

The finish is... well, I don't know how to describe it. It's quite matte but it doesn't as drying as matte lipsticks do. The other thing that I noticed about it is that it feels light and really comfortable to wear. I think I'm getting a love at first sight with this lipstick~!

So to wrap it up, here is the look I come up with along with some stuff I bought from MAC the other day.

Products used:

EYES:
M.A.C.'s Soft Ocher Paint Pot
M.A.C.'s Marge Extra Ingredients Quad
M.A.C.'s Khol Pencil in Blooz
Urban Decay Eyelash Primer
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Eyebrow
M.A.C.'s Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brunette
Face:
Etude House CC Cream in Silky
M.A.C.'s Prolong Wear SPF 20 Foundation in NC30
M.A.C's Studio Careblend Pressed powder in Medium
Lips:
YSL Top Secret Re-plumping Concentrated Lip Contour and Lip Shaper
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Liner in Bella Mare
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Vera

No concealers and no blush applied. x.x

That's all for now!

Thanks for reading :)

First purchase(s)! YSL Lipstick in 209 and Top Secret re-pluming lip Shaper and Contour

So I just had my first YSL purchase, which is a lipstick and a lip conditioner. I've had it for a few weeks back since I really love the red lippie Nicole (pixiwoo) wears on her post on instagram. I love it that I had to go and grab it.

And, I did. Feeling that golden box of lipstick on my hands, feels like the angels were singing, and my wallet too! (Or rather it was crying!) It was magnificent. I love it although I find it quite hard to wear at times since I'm not the type of person that would reapply my lipstick every now and then.

Of course, it's quite different from what I usually wear (you know I'm a big fan of M.A.C.) and the texture was pretty moisturizing. It has a matte finish(?) which I don't really think it does since it has almost the same texture with my Make Up ForEver Rouge Intense Artist lipstick in #43. Glossy, but then not so on my upper lip. o.o More of like Semi-Matte lip finish (in addition to what I've said)

In terms of opaqueness, I'd say it's quite opaque. The shade is quite warm on me, and I used to call it as a muted red since it doesn't look as bright nor as cool as the other reds I have on my stash although it does look quite bright on some cases. But then it's not an overwhelming red. My perfect go-to red!

Used the Top Secret Re-plumping Lip Shaper & Contour under 209 Red Rhythm Lipstick

Another lip product that I purchased was, Top Secret Re-Pluming Lip Shaper & Contour. It reminded me of that Lip Conditioner M.A.C. used to sell, (which I'll probably repurchasing anytime soon) but more on the lip-cream like texture.

I don't exactly know how or what to describe this since it doesn't seem to help me at all. I've been having a pretty bad dried-out lips nowadays and I was in need of a good lip balm or a lip conditioner and so far, and I'm a bit disappointed since it doesn't do anything on my lips. I'll be just, I'll have to try and use it for a week or two and I'll get back to you guys about the results.

So how about you? Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments about what you think :)

For now thanks for your time!

MELT COSMETICS: ULTRA MATTE LIPPIES

Hiya!

Yesterday the package I've been waiting for finally arrived, and it was my very first purchase with Melt Cosmetics. If you haven't heard of them, well they're a cosmetic brand who manufactures lipsticks (for now), and if you want to check them out, just click here.

Each lipsticks costs around US$19, more or less S$25 each, and it has this ultra-matte formula. I have two lipsticks, one is Belladonna 2 which is a cool toned Red, and the other is Shady Lady, which I describe as a cross between M.A.C.'s Heroine and a bit of Lickable lippie.

Shady Lady

So, first impressions.
Packaging: Reminds me of UD's Revolution lipstick but better. I love the easy to grip sides.
Scent: It has a sweet yet there's this old make up scent in it. That sweetened scent reminds me of that floral candies I used to eat which can be found in birthday cakes back in our country. There's also that a bit of ice scramble (just some iced shake with some pink food coloring, powdered milk and Hershey's chocolate syrup on top) scent to it.
Feel: It feels light weight. Even though it's ultra-matte I don't find it drying.
Texture: Really matte, reminds me of Retro Mattes of M.A.C. and Illamasqua lipsticks which are quite hard to apply and you'll get a bit scared for you might broke the lipstick. Really opaque when applied. oh right, it has less transfer too, once you put it, it sets quite fast.
Thoughts: It's a really good matte lipstick although the opaqueness can be a bit of a problem in taking it off since it does leave a stain on your lips. I think it would be better to be applied using a brush than straight to the tube for more control too.
Am I happy with my purchase?: DEFINITELY YES! I eat a lot of quite oily foods almost everyday of my life and this is definitely one of the lipsticks I can see that would hold off the oiliness from the food I eat.
Belladonna 2

If you want to purchase one of the lipsticks, just go click on the link at the top of this page.

So that's it for now!

Thank you for your time :)

Reds, reds, and reds...

Hello guys~!

It has been awhile since I've last updated my blog, and I've been pretty busy with work and all that jazz. (same reason again x.x Sorry~!) Now I just had the "feel" to go ahead and I just had to write down something.

Well, every lady who's in to makeup will never ever, get away with at least one red lipstick in their collection. I have lots *guilty as charge* and I must say that some of these shades of red really fits me. I can't say if I'm cool tone or warm tone for both suits me well.

I mostly use warm neutral eye shadows nowadays, Just taking advantage of the summer trend going on with the world. But reds are the only thing that never goes out of style. You can wear it in whatever day you want. It either gives you that flirty feel or it gives you that you-do-not-mess-with-me feel.

Since I've consider myself caught up in to becoming a goth (which I don't want to label myself as one since I don't really have a goth outfit to go with nor my lifestyle is quite Gothic) and still having to hold on as a typical looking girl, there are reds that looks pretty intimidating on me but then there are reds that I considered my everyday red.

The colors I'll be showing you are my lipsticks that I consider as red whether it's a dark shade, a cool shade or a warm shade so before you get confused. ^^ I'll go through them in a bit and tell you how I usually use it. Sorry for bad Lighting >.<

(first row from the back left to right: Viva Glam Rihanna, Riri Woo,
All Fired Up, Ruby Woo, Lady Danger, Relentlessly Red, Russian Red
Second Row Left to Right: Viva Glam I, Prolong, Red Necessity,
No. 43, Diva, On Hold, Retro.
Lip Pencils left to right: Burgundy, Kiss Me Quick, 69, Dragon Girl,
What A Blast!, Train Bleu, Adore Adoree, Beet, Redd, Half-Red
Lip Glass: Viva Glam Rihanna)

So here are some quick run through again of the lipsticks

VIVA GLAM RIHANNA (M.A.C.). This red has a frost finish and a limited collection. It's one of the bright reds I have with a cool undertone. Come to think of it, I rarely use it. I used it once with a warm smokey eye.
RIRI WOO (M.A.C.). This red has a matte finish with a blue undertone and closely related to Ruby Woo and Russian Red. I mostly use this with a bit of a simple go to pin-up look that I almost use everyday. I think I used this in my other make up look, that catwoman inspired look.
ALL FIRED UP (M.A.C.). This red has a retro matte finish with a bit of a pink undertone. It is similar to the other red I'll mention here but it is quite darker. One of my go-to reds if I don't want a strong red, just a playful, a little darker, red. In addition to retro mattes, it is more matte than the usual matte lipsticks, meaning more drying and quite harder to apply since it's quite dry so make sure your lips are well moisturized before applying.
RUBY WOO (M.A.C.). This red has a retro matte finish with a blue undertone. Quite similar to Ririwoo but a touch brighter than that of Ririwoo. It's quite hard too to apply because of the finish but, hey, it's a nice red to go with if you're in need of reds. Compliments both warm and cool undertones.
L-R: Viva Glam Rihanna, Ririwoo, All Fired Up, Ruby Woo

LADY DANGER (M.A.C.). Another red with a matte finish. This red has that red orange shade perfect for summer with all that bright colors in. I usually hate this for I feel it's too bright on me, but I do get a lot of compliments with this color.

RELENTLESSLY RED (M.A.C.) This red has a retro matte finish, and is quite similar to All Fired Up, only it has a touch brighter. (Well for me atleast). When I saw this red, it was love at first sight. I really love the color pay off and how red it is and how at times it turns in to pink. More like a muted red shade.

RUSSIAN RED (M.A.C.) This red has a matte finish and it's a touch darker than Ruby Woo. But as I've said, I think this is closer to Ririwoo. It my very first red M.A.C. lipstick. It has a cool undertone and I really enjoyed using it.

VIVA GLAM I (M.A.C.). This is the last red I bought, since Maleficent got sold out in a flash. I've been thinking of buying it before when I get the chance. This red has a matte finish, and it has a pretty warm undertone on it. One of my go-to reds whenever I feel like going on a warm darker red.
PROLONG (M.A.C.). I'm not sure how describe this lipstick but hell as sure when I used it, it really stays on quite well. It dries on really fast and it's like the color hugs your lips and stays on pretty well. It has a bit of shine to it, but I would not consider it as a matte. Beautiful red. It's the first prolong lipstick I bought.
RED NECESSITY (M.A.C.) I don't think I will consider this as a lipstick, more like a tinted overpriced lip balm. I used it once or twice and I think it's ok but not really impressed by the staying power of it, saying it's a huggable lip color. But I do use it when I feel like I don't want to go all opaque, just a pop of color and I'm good to go.
#43 (Make Up ForEver). It's one of the reds I fell in love with. It's not matte, just glossy enough for me yet very opaque. It has a good staying power and doesn't dry out my lips in anyway. My classic red.
L-R: Viva Glam I, Prolong, Red Necessity, #43

DIVA (M.A.C.) I heard that this was one of the "popular" shade back in my country. I'm not going in with the trend but, I've used this a couple of times before when I'm feeling vampy. It has a matte finish. Maybe not a real red but close. I call it the burgundy red lippie.
ON HOLD (M.A.C.) Not exactly red, although I consider it as a red or rather it gives or highlights the redness on my lips when I use it. Muted red, probably one of the nudes I have with a red undertone. It has a cremesheen finish, creamier and non-drying.
RETRO (M.A.C.) Another non-real red, but close enough since it's two shades lighter than Diva. It has a satin finish which I love, and I use it when I feel like I don't want to go all dark with my lip, just a touch darker.
L-R: Diva, On Hold, Retro
LIP PENCILS
BURGUNDY (M.A.C). I used it under Diva to pop out the color and have it more darker.
KISS ME QUICK (M.A.C.) I usually use this under any red lipstick since it turns it redder although it sets quickly.
69 (Urban Decay). This is what I use nowadays since it gives off that classic cherry lip. Using it under any reds I have on my kit.
DRAGON GIL (NARS). The kind of red I'd love to wear everyday. Stays long without any primer. I usually have it on its own. Never tried to top it up with a lipstick because it looks like a lipstick when you apply it once it sets.
WHAT A BLAST! (M.A.C.) my one and only orange lip liner. Usually have it under Lady Danger to pop that orange out.
TRAIN BLEU (NARS). I did use this once as a lipstick but not as a lip pencil. Had Nightmoth under it and it was quite disappointing because it never evens out once it dries and chips off after a few hours.
ADORE ADOREE (REVLON). I was curious as to how this lip stains or tinted lip balms looked. and this give off that light red stain on your lips. Not really what I'm looking for but I wore it with a light touch of makeup.
BEET (M.A.C.). This red has that plum shade on it. Not entirely red, it enhances or pops out All Fired Up's color really well. My first red lip liner.
REDD (M.A.C.) It has this bright red shade on it. A touch brighter than that of Kiss Me Quick.
HALF-RED (M.A.C.) It has this muted shade of red and the newest in my collection. Tried using it once with my Mystical lipstick (LE, M.A.C.) and I was happy with it.
Lip Glass:
VIVA GLAM RIHANNA (M.A.C.) The only red lip gloss I own with glitters on it. Quite opaque for a lip glass, but hey, I'm not a fan of lip glasses but this is ok for me since it's quite light when you apply it.

L-R: Burgundy, Kiss Me Quick, 69. Dragon Girl, What A Blast!
Train Bleu, Adore Adoree, Beet, Redd, Half-Red
Bottom: Viva Glam Rihanna Lip Glass

Sooo there you have it my love for red though, does not stop here. Soon I'll have Sangers, Growl, Maneater (all from Illamasqua) and Mascate, Vesuvio, Terre de Feu (from NARS) in my collection.

^^ For now, thanks for your time!

Love,

The Quantum Enigma Review

Hi guys~!

I know it's been ages and I've been going through a lot of stuff lately. Just got back from home two weeks ago, feels refreshing and then here's the work stuff. A pretty stressful week but I quite manage it.

So, when I got back from home, I had a glimpse of Epica's new single which was The Essence of Silence, which was included in their The Quantum Enigma album. I love it a lot when I first heard it. It has a catchy chorus which really got stuck in my head for quite sometime, found myself humming to the tune most of the time.

I just got my copy of The Quantum Enigma, going through with some songs while blogging. The Epica-feel is still there, but there's something new. Something is new. It's still symphonic yet there's a touch of fast beats and rolls which I love that I found on the last two albums they've released.

I couldn't compare the new ones in to their past songs but one thing is for sure, Simone Simons, I think she finds it a bit harder to sing. She's torn somewhere between being a classical singer in to a power metal singer. It is quite powerful but not as powerful as Floor Jansen. Don't get me wrong, I love Simone. I still look up to her as one of my idols. They're both incredible vocalists, I just find it that there's something missing.

The growls, the choir, all the rest of the stuff is really perfect or close to perfect. Maybe it's just because of the recording, since it's either more vibratos or just give it a clean voice (What the hell am I talking about? >.<). I just missed the old classical feel like in Feint and Cry For The Moon.

I have to be honest, I did not enjoy Canvas of Life studio version though, but I did enjoy the live acoustic version (because I get to see Isaac >.> jk XD). I hope she sing it the way she did in Trois Vierges.

Amidst all the sh*tty stuff I've said, there is another song that I love. It gives me that "Tarja"-feel in it and that's In All Conscience. There was this almost a thin borderline between what Tarja used to do in her My Winter Storm album. Close to Die Alive but heavier, and a darker version of Paradise (What About Us?) (yup it's a WT song, but to hell with it, I love that song too XD)

The thing that never fails to amaze me is that, the construction of the lyrics. The lyrics are meaningful. They usually made me question my own existence every time I listen to it.

Overall it is quite new to my ears, but then there's so many elements incorporated in each songs that I don't think I'm quite ready to absorb. I love Epica and I've been listening to them for years, but this album it's a bit too much. It is quite polished and not at the same time. It's like packing in everything in one album that it's hard to chew and swallow because of the contents and then I get too full after three songs.

So what rating is The Quantum Enigma for me? I'd give it an 8 out of 10. The album is not totally bad but it isn't as good as other albums. I will still continue to buy and listen to their future albums anyways so please don't label this as a "hate" review.

Horns up \m/

Diabetes symptoms

Hi guys~!

It's been awhile since I last posted. I'm not in the mood to post or update it in to facebook but well yeah, I might have this one posted soon.

I've been having troubles sleeping lately and I've had encounters with my skin. I noticed some changes that's happening in my body (including having itchy dry skin, when I scratch it it turns in to rashes and some of it bleeds, frequent urination and blurred vision as well as insomnia.)

I looked up google to see what's up since I remembered some of it related to my mom's sickness (which led to her death) which is diabetes. She always reminded me to take good care of myself especially my sugar intakes.

I don't normally eat sweets nowadays. I've been eating less rice just to minimize my glucose in take and I do drink lots of water (which I really hate). So now why do I see these?

I can't really talk it over with somebody who won't grossed out with the things I'd tell them. I missed my mom and she'll tell me things that I should do... She'll help me out but now I don't know.

It's been on my second day (nite) I haven't been sleeping on time. I want to go back home and have myself checked for any possibilities that these theories I have will prove that I'm either diabetic or not.

How about you? Do you know what other symptoms I should watch out for? If you know something, please tell me in the comments.

Thank you in advance!

First Illamasqua Eyeshadow: Daemon

Hi guys~!

So it has been quite a rough week for me. I bought some stuff from Illamasqua. I'm still not sure what to feel with regards to their lipsticks since I'm a bit disappointed with Kontrol on my first try. But then there's no reason to judge something you're just getting used to, right?

I was looking for a couple of eyeshadows and I've been meaning to buy it for quite sometime now, having it as one of the last make-up purchase for this month (bought M.A.C. face and body foundation in N3). I've seen swatches of this really pretty color, I'm a fan of blues and shades with a bit of blue in it will always be my favorite color but for this... I'll give it a go.

When I was in High School I was a fan of Evanescence and I loooove their Going Under music video. It would be so cool to have that kind of make-up, red and black eyeshadows really popped out the eye color of Amy Lee. Looking back, maybe I should give it a try to to do that look.

So you guessed what color? yes! It's a red!

Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow in Daemon
Nails:
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Nomad
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Scorn (black matte)

It's like love at first sight. This eyeshadow costs s$33 and weighs 2 grams. To think about it, this is the very first eyeshadow I bought alone. I usually bought palettes for they're much cheaper than buying the shades separately. buuut since is not included in any palette, I guess I just had to give it a go. What I love about this one is the name, Daemon. It reminded me of that character I used to play in Sacred: Underworld, which also has the same name.

I can't wait to try this soon! I think it's a very awesome color although not something you would be seeing every now and then. Like what that M.A.C. lady told me, Red eyeshadows are not regularly bought by customer (well, not here in Singapore anyways >.>).

I've becoming bolder with my colors as I could feel I'm turning all goth. Next on my list is Sadist, which is described as that royal blue shade, and Victim, which is described as ocean blue shade.

I do think though M.A.C. has some reds on them, maybe I'll go back and check it out again.

That's all for now~!

Thanks for your time. :)

Getting Fit: Everyday Diet Entry 1

Grüße Leute von Gaia!

I have been meaning to do this for quite awhile now and my fats are showing off quite nicely (they're proud of themselves but I'm not!) so I know I had to do something... trim them off!

Just kidding! I just decided to go on a strict diet. (chos!) But I am starting out on a diet. I said goodbye to one of the things that completes my meal. RICE.

so I checked my weight (and I know it's quite late to check it and I'm pretty much embarrassed by my weight) which is 170 lbs. I need to shed for around 40 lbs and hopefully I could do it by the end of the year.

I've been eating veggies and fish when I'm work, chicken with salad and some fruits. I'm trying to cut myself off from these sweets although I though crave sweets.

I bought some munchies today which I promise myself to avoid soon. As a treat, this is the only day I will ever eat junk foods (and when I get back home). So, I'll just have to take a bit of strawberries and fruits and the likes when I'm hungry.

In addition to these whole losing weight thing, I'll undergo waist training. I'll have my very own corset soon after I finished all the expenses I need for this month.

So yeah.

Good luck to me~!

Love,

~M~

February: Month of the Lipsticks Part 2

Hi guys!

It's me again~! Sorry for the late updates. I just recently discovered that I could purchase some stuff I've been hearing about ever since I started in to makeup. I've been a lipstick junkie,  bold lips junkie to be more specific, and I saw Samantha Chapman from pixiwoo posted a picture of her wearing Eurydice by Illamasqua.

My reaction was: "OMG!!! It's so pretty!! I want to have it!!" inside my head. (never been really vocal when it comes to that unless I'm with my honeybear) and so I googled to check it out. Annnd you guys know what happened next.

I saw these pretty unique shades of lippies. I've bought M.A.C.'s Hautecore, worn it once at work with Private Party and Currant Lip Liner and I wasn't really happy about what I got at the end of the day. I love black. I love how black it turned out on my lip (with a bit of a blue shade on it) but the formula is not really that much. I was kind of disappointed about it.

It reminds me of when I used to wear nude lippies. I don't know, I mean I do put on a lip liner, fill up my lips with it and yet, at the end of the day I'm left with just the liner at the edge of my lips. (Hideous!) This is one of the reasons why I dislike nudes although I still love them when I'm doing a smokey eye.

But having it with a bold lip is a real "nuh-uh, not good". I encountered the same thing with NARS Train Bleu, and when I tried to reapply the lipstick, it turns out uneven. Not really good with putting it on with a quite dry lip.
Haute Core with Nightmoth

So, now I'm testing out Illamasqua's lipsticks. I've heard quite a mixture of good and bad reviews about it since it's all Matte. I love Matte. As I grow older, I think matte finishes are better and my love for cremesheen and shimmery, glossy lipsticks are slowly diminishing. But maybe because my lips are quite dry and they're the only finish who could conceal my chapped lips.

I went to out and purchased (at last!) my very first Illamasqua purchase which is why I have my very own glittery makeup bag, (I've spent $68 for the two lipsticks.... now I'm broke lol) a free sample of Hydra Veil which I've been thinking of purchasing soon and then I have my own feathery pen~!

Now let's talk about the lipsticks. I tried out Kontrol as soon as I reached home to test it out and was hopping for a quite dark blueish-purple lipstick but I think it turned out to be quite purple on my skin tone. Maybe because I haven't fully removed my previous lipstick so I'm going to have to test it out tomorrow to see how it will turn out.

KONTROL
First impressions: yes, I love how it glides on smoothly on my lips just like that. It has a good amount of coverage and it's pretty creamy for a matte lipstick.

DISCIPLE
First impressions: So far so good, but it reminds me of M.A.C.'s Riri Woo. It's quite dry when you put it on and quite hard that I had to be careful not to pull it too hard or it will snap. But then, once you reach that level of shade you wanted to have from the lipstick, the color can be build up to your preferred shade, you can't even feel you're wearing it. It's quite light and non-drying at all which is nice. I'll try to see if it can hold still on Sundays since it's like our "free-day" and there's a bunch of people who looked down at me because I looked like a highschool kid. One thing that I also notice is that, at first they give off that vanilla-like smell and then it disappears. Probably that's why I don't seem to feel like I'm wearing anything at all. Over-all it's a 7.5 out of 10 because of application but for color pay-off it's a 9 out of 10. I don't think there are any blue or navy blue lip pencil out there so I had to use M.A.C.'s eye kohl pencil in Blooz.

I'll be having new stuff pretty soon and I forgot that there are three more which I didn't mention but I'm really happy using.

See you again at the end of the month~!

Thank you for your time~!

Cheers!

Within Temptation's New Album: HYDRA First Impressions

Hi guys~!

Ok somebody, (well, my honeybear) asked me to do some reviews about music and stuff because I was becoming more of a critic. I never wanted to do it in the first place for I might say something really really out of the way, but then these are just my opinions.

I've been a fan of WT for years now, and I think they've been adding some stuff in their music. I love how their songs give me these emotions everytime I listen to them remembering stuff and well, indulging in it.

Moving on, I must say that this album... is not really bad. I think I like it since I listen to different genres but then, the downside of things which I've been really a bit disappointed is they've been turning in to a bit pop-y. It's like they're trying to invade the "mainstream" music in the US which it's ok but then you get what I mean...

When I heard Paradise, (I looove Tarja!) it sounded a bit like Nightwish w/ Anette but then just replace Anette with Tarja and make her sing "Amaranth" and "Storytime". I was sad when Tarja had been kicked out by NW and was disappointed when I heard the pop-y tunes produced during Anette's era. But then again I've matured and learned to accept things I can't do anything about. I even love Dark Passion Play album and Imaginaerum.

Going back to the song, I do love the song. I always get LSS with it whenever I hear it (or when my head decides to listen to it.) I liked how Howard Jones mixed with Sharon's vocals in Dangerous, which appeared to sound like Amaranthe >.> but then I still missed the old teddy bear on stage with KsE. There's like something is wrong or I don't know... The beat is fast, really cool. (It feels good to run with metal songs, makes your feet go with the beat of the drums) but then I don't know, it feels like Howard could have done something more in the song. (Or maybe I'm just missing his growls)

So those are the things I think about the album. I will try to listen to it again when I can and try to embrace it. For now I think so far I'll give it a... 8/10.

I'll give out further reviews per song next time.

Horns up and rock on~! \m/

February~! Month of the Lipsticks...

Hello lovelies~!

I've been exposed by one of SEPHORA's staff since I've been buying lippies stuff lately. It was fun thought since I'm not really a fan of lip glosses. I will always go with Lipsticks or lipliners. But then, what can I say? I'm a lipstick junkie!

I've had a couple of M.A.C.'s stuff before, and I think after I posted the last one, my vanity case is being filled up by lipstick. You really don't need all, but being a collector, you know you just have to have more of it.

So these are the things I purchased recently and I'll give you my thoughts about it. :) Stay tuned!

M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Hautecore
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Catfight
M.A.C. Viva Glam (Frost) Rihanna
Urban Decay Lip Liner in Anarchy
M.A.C. Viva Glam Rihanna Lip Glass

First part, I will include some of the things I bought this month in the next picture so yeah let's start.

M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Hautecore. Hautecore is a Matte Black. I was trying to figure out what's the look to do with this one and definitely thinking of doing a Gothic look to go by with the lips. I love black. I was kinda disappointed by it before when I tried to swatch on the sample of this on my hand since it's not as buildable as it looks and it's not matte nor black at all. But then when I finally got mine, I must say that I'm quite happy with it and I look forward to using it pretty soon.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Catfight. This is one of my new lipsticks which I will have to try soon for my office look. I've tried the other lipstick which is Anarchy (sadly I left in in the office when I took this shot :( ) so yeah. I hope I'm not disappointed with it.

M.A.C. Viva Glam Rihanna. Viva Glam Rihanna is the first frost finish lipstick that I fell in love with from M.A.C.. I do like Angel but then it doesn't seem to go or hold on to my lips and it kept on moving around which I really hate. The reason why I love this lipstick is that it stays on pretty well and the color pay off is really great.
Urban Decay Lip liner Pencil in Anarchy. I've been trying to reach for this one for so many times ever since I saw xsparkage wear it on one of her tutorials (I believe it's this one). I really love how it looks on her and being me, a fan of wearing bold colors, I just grab it, and go. It does a pretty good job in terms of staying on your lips. It doesn't cake up and I really really love it. Nice UD!
M.A.C. Viva Glam Rihanna Lip glass. I have encountered lip glasses before and I must say I love them. They don't have any stickiness on them and just pure lightweight glossy thing over your lips. I still haven't used mine though so probably I'll give it a go with the lipstick soon.

L-R:
M.A.C. Viva Glam Rihanna (frost)
M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Hautecore
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Catfight
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu

So I'll be reviewing the last 3 for this part. One which I actually used, and 2 which I'm going to use pretty pretty soon (I'm so excited!). Let's get started!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy. I've used this one to work and I must say, I love it. I'm starting to get pretty addicted to it. I love how moisturizing it feels on the lips. A little drying, but only for a little. It glides on flawlessly on the lips and with one layer, you're all good to go. It looks awfully bright on me or perhaps it might be the first thing you'll notice from me. But then it reminds me of M.A.C.'s Lickable. XD
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl. I've been in to pinks nowadays (in love?) and I saw this here and I love how dark it looked on her. It is quite close to Ruby Woo with a twist. I can't wait to try this on~!
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu. Even though I am in to pinks, I still haven't lost touch with my dark side so this is to balance out my ever darkness-loving side. So this lipstick (lip pencil) is one of those things that I will use if I feel all vampy which I hope I could do every now and then.

So there you go, I'll be updating soon about the swatches and stuff again for the other lippies I haven't tried. :P

Thank you for your time.

Love,

~M~

Valentine's note~

So, It's here! The month of hearts which me and my honey bear never really get to celebrate. I haven't been a fan of "going on a date on valentine's day" routine since, it's kinda over rated. You can have your dates anytime you want. We do celebrate Saint Valentine's day but then, we at times never really have any idea why we celebrate it.

I never had any idea at first. When I was a kid I was curious (and kinda envious) about how these girls get chocolates and flowers and stuff. As I grow up, on the other hand, I see it as one of the most overrated "celebration" of all. I learned that this is not for me. (Talk about this nerdy-goth-metalhead side of me). You guys get what I mean.

The important thing about this is that, you learn to love each other more and more. We do have our own mishaps and fights and might even close to breaking apart, but then we chose to stay together. Differences between us made us stronger in a way we never imagined it to be.

Even our zodiac signs say we're not compatible. If you go with the flow, you might believe it so, but then why would we want our love life be controlled over by some book, some statement, or some stuff you read over the internet? You are in control of what you have. If your parents are against it, then perhaps you could check out the reasons as to "why".

But then it's our life. No one will ever control us unless we let them. Even though everybody says just forget it, try to analyze the situation and how it is affecting you. If it's bad then just forget it. Let it go. Life is too full of hardships already don't make it too hard on you.

Happiness is always a choice.

Love,

~M~

World of Warcraft: Having fun with surveying~! (Archaeology 101)

Hello guys~!

Happy Chinese New Year!

It's been awhile since I've posted due to (again) busy days. I've had my two days off and had been pretty lazy with all these stuff going in my head. So I figured out I had to cool off and come back to World of Warcraft~!

Yes, I missed my fluffy Pandaren Monk character (Elechim - Rexxar) and I'm in control again, feeling the keys of my keyboard and the tension of having to go back to the old school mouse (my Razer Naga's effed up) under my fingers feels refreshing. But still I'm too chickened out to try tanking LFRs (Raid finder) since I know I will fucked up the raid.... sooo yeah.

I've been doing some professions (secondary profession) leveling up which is Archaeology. It was nice to do this when you're out there just trying to let time pass by. It's never boring, at least for me, to level it up. So if you're a beginner (A Newb like me), this is how I figured out how it works.

Why did I resort to Leveling up Archaeology? Archaeology is the most recent secondary profession release in World of Warcraft. I thought at first it was a primary profession (talking about how newb I was...) not understanding the trailers, having no idea at all. I thought of making a Troll Druid with that profession. Moving on... I go bored with Fishing and Cooking (which I'll be leveling up pretty soon) and Archaeology sounds new considering the goodies you could make with it. So if you're quite bored with leveling up other stuff but you want to at least have a profession where you would not be required to farm anything, go with Archaeology.

How does it work? Archaeology reminded me of that mini Chocobo game in Final Fantasy 9 where you are using your chocobos to search for "treasures" using its beak to dig it up and you know you're close when your chocobo says "KWEEEEHHH?!?!". It has the same mechanics with Archaeology although here you survey for certain dig sites for some goodies and it doesn't have any timer so you could stay AFK while you go do other stuff (but beware where you leave your character, these dig sites are usually around mobs).

Dig sites. Dig sites are usually indicated in your map. It's the red highlighted area on your map (which at times shows blueish grey if you're away), and it's the shovel icon shown if you zoom out your map.

Digging. Let's say you have arrived at the site, and you used the 'survey' icon (which can be found in your professions tab). There are indicators to know how close you are in an item. It is the color produced by your surveying equipment. Each indicators are represented by the following:

Red - the item is far away. You have to walk a bit further towards the direction your indicator is pointing at.

Yellow - The item is quite near yet a bit far. You have to walk a bit more around 12 to 20 steps further.

Green - The item is near. If you're riding a chocobo, this would mean "KWEEEEEEHHH-HHHHHH-HHH?!". Yes, you just have to take 5 to 10 steps around your surveying equipment and you'll get your "treasure".

Things to get. Now you're definite start off with archaeology, there are some add-ons you might need to get. These add ons can be downloaded from here which will help you through your adventures.

Archy. It shows how far you are from a certain digsite and how much fragments you need to have in order to solve one item.

Gatherer. It marks where your previous veins, digs are. It's good when you're also trying to level up your gathering professions.
Archaeology Helper. It indicates the area covered by the red, yellow, and green indicators. You just have to use survey, mark the direction by pressing the red button.

These are all the basic add-ons you need to get through archaeology. You can download other add-ons but these are the only things you need and of course, a good music will do.

These are just the basics. How 'bout leveling? I suggest that before you solve any relics or artifacts and your skill is 15-20 points before the cap (for a certain level), better go to a trainer and move on to the next level so that you won't waste any skill points.

So there you have it! If you guys have any questions or comments or what, feel free to drop by. :)

Thank you for your time and enjoy~!

Love,

~M~
